Sabbath 2/9/19 Seventh Day Baptist Edgewater Pastor Keith sermon “God’s Nature” I John 4:7-8

When our kids don’t get their way, they sometimes say “you don’t love me” or “you don’t care”. We all love our children and this love remains constant. They just might not understand. Just like we love our children, God loves us also. When He does things we don’t understand, He still loves us. There is a struggle we must all go through to develop ourselves into good Christians. It is similar to a caterpillar going thru stages before she becomes a butterfly. Painful life experiences can be God’s way of preparing us to also fly. Don’t let difficult circumstances make us doubt God’s love for us. God’s nature is total love. Love is of God. God is Love, it’s not He has love but He IS Love! Three things to remember.

1)      God is LOVE and His Will is the Best.

2)      God is ALL Knowing.

3)      God is ALL Powerful.

God has perfect love for us and He can’t not love us because God is Love. He disciplines, chastises everyone He thinks of as his child. He wants to bring us to a place in our lives so that He can bless us the way He wants to. God gives to us His best. We must trust that God will give us His best. Whatever role He has you in, it is the best for you. We are to show our love for God by keeping His commandments. Life has landmines in it. So God gave us His commandments to direct us around the landmines so we don’t blow up. We want to step where God says to step and go the way He says to go so we can live. We need to follow God so we can be safe in His love. We need to take God on His offer of love. His commandments are not there to limit us but to protect us from the evils of the world. God’s commandments are to protect and guide us.

God is ALL knowing and omnipotent. He knows EVERYTHING! God has powerful knowledge of ALL things because He created ALL things. His knowledge is absolute with perfect understanding. No one taught God anything! God knows when we sit down and when we rise up. God knows ALL of EVERYTHING!

God is All Powerful and He is the one who created the universe out of nothing. What He says will happen, will happen. God will do all that He pleases. What God has planned, that will He do. God is ALL powerful and He enables us to do His Will. Jesus enabled His disciples to heal people and cast out demons. God will enable you and equip you to do everything He has asked you to do. Do all of the things that God wants you to do because God is able to give us power to do whatever He wants. We must believe in God’s power and live our life in response to all of His power. Trust in the Lord! We must know and do His Will. Trust in the Lord! God Is Love. God Is All Knowing. God Is All Power.
