A prayer based on Ephesians 6:10-18


Lord God,

You tell us that our fight is not against flesh and blood,

But is against the evil and spiritual forces that oppose you,

Yet, I thank you that no matter how powerful the enemy is,

You are more powerful by far,

And you can even work through the enemy’s attacks,

To carry out your good purposes in our lives,

So please help me to trust in your strength and protection against all spiritual attack,

As your Word tells me,

Help me to put on the spiritual armour of you,

That I would be able to stand firm in my faith against the enemy,

Remind me that you are sovereign over all things,

And that nothing that the enemy throws at me is too much for you to handle,

When I do face spiritual attack,

Please remind me that you are working for my good and will never let me fall,

And comfort me by your love and presence,

Give me the grace and strength I need to keep persevering,

And help me to keep holding firmly to your Word and the hope I have in Christ,

So that the enemy’s attacks will not make me lose my trust in you,

But would only serve to make my faith stronger.
