But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:8-9 NIV
This is another scripture reading familiar to many Christians. For us who believe in Jesus Christ, the Word truly is near to us. It certainly is on our mouth and in our hearts. We are called to declare to the world that Jesus Christ is the Lord. He is God’s Son, sent to us to reveal the plan of the Heavenly Father, sacrificing His life on our behalf that we might be reconciled to the Creator of all. It is not enough for us though to proclaim this message with our mouth. We must also believe in our heart, and our soul that the Father raised Jesus Christ from the dead, Christ was raised, being the first fruit of those who shall be raised to eternal life. All that we have has been given to us by the Heavenly Father through His Son. With mouth, heart and soul proclaim and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him alone you are saved and made righteous before the Father.
