Lord God,

I thank you for the chance to go and worship you this morning,

At my local church alongside brothers and sisters in Christ,

I pray that as I seek after you this morning,

Help me to cast aside any distractions,

Or the need to put on a face as I come before you,

But help me to come before you just as I am,

With all of my faults, struggles and brokenness,

Give me the strength to worship you wholeheartedly,

With confidence, gratitude and joy,

But also in humility and reverence, 

Please open my heart,

To listen and meditate upon the lyrics of the songs we sing,

And your Word that will be preached this morning,

I pray for the humility to be challenged and transformed through your Word,

And the strength to live by it,

I pray that as I interact with my brothers and sisters in Christ this morning,

Please give me opportunities to grow in fellowship with them,

I pray that you would allow us to have many fruitful conversations,

And help us to continue to build up one another through our words,

Please help me to also be aware of any new people who attend,

That I may be able to help them feel welcome,

And I pray that in all that I say and do at church this morning,

May it all be for your glory.
