Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:5-8 NIV

Think not for a moment that you can live of the flesh and be able to please God. The flesh has no place for God. The flesh is enslaved to its own desires. It seeks instant gratification. It seeks lust and greed. It has no room for the desires of others. The flesh fights against the will of God. Those who live according to the Spirit seek to please God in that which they do. The believer knows that God provides all that is needed. God is faithful. He is steadfast. We must work in the field for the Lord. The harvest is ripe, ready for the picking. Our minds must stay focused on the Lord and His ways. When we succumb to fleshly desires, may we promptly and humbly approach the Lord with a repentant heart. Ask for His mercy and forgiveness and continue to follow in His ways!
