A Christian is a SOLDIER-ATHLETE-FARMER
-----Like the "Proverbs 31:1-31 A Wife-Mother wears many hats, Scripture paints the Christian’s purpose on earth by the many hats we wear. In 2 Timothy 2:1-7, Timothy is told to “-wear THE HAT OF A SOLDIER , WEAR THE HAT OF AN ATHLETE, and “WEAR THE HAT OF A FARMER.
-----A SOLDIER endures hardness as he wars for Jesus, an ATHLETE disciplines himself (strives lawfully and denies himself certain pleasures) in order to compete for the prize, and a FARMER-SOWER sows with expectations of a farmer as he labors in God’s Harvest field. This article is about our hat as a farmer.
-----The following are some passages that talk about Sowing, Reaping, Rewards and a Harvest. We are like a farmer who sows a seed and after a time receives a crop or a harvest. This passage points out the cause and effect in a farmer’s life. He needs to sow to get a harvest.

The Christian as a Sower
The Christian life is all about sowing. Sowing does not require intelligence or much knowledge; you do not have to be handsome, or pretty. You do not need to be skilled or talented You Just Have To Be Willing To Sow. Sowing takes time.
-----The IMPORTANCE of the Sower
From seed to harvest there are many people involved in the growing process. Their importance is almost nothing compared to God because God is the ONE who is responsible for the increase. We are not indispensable. For there is long line of people who are willing to take our place.
-----1 Corinthians 3:5-7 (KJV) 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
-----The Mechanism of the Sowing-Harvest Process.
Whatever we sow we will reap. Since we are fleshly-spiritual we can choose to sow spiritually or fleshly. If we sow good things, we will reap good things. If we sow bad things, we will reap bad things. If we sow nothing, we will reap nothing. Sow a little, reap a little. Sow a lot, reap a lot. The sower is us. The sower decides what he wants to sows. There is delay between sowing and reaping called a season. Patience and perseverance is required in order not to throw in the towel.
-----Galatians 6:8-10 (KJV) 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
-----What Ever We Sow Will Return To Us.
Luke 6:3:38 (KJV) 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
-----Sowing Is One of the Three Hats of a Disciple wears
In 2 Timothy 2:1-6 (KJV) as a disciple we wear three hats. He is a soldier, an athlete and a farmer.
-----2 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
-----A SOLDIER 3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
-----AN ATHLETE 5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
SOWING IS WHAT A FARMER DOES. A farmer REQUIRE PATIENCE.
-----A FARMER 6 the husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. 7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.Future Articles
