In the Bible {God’s word}, God Sees Christians as Sheep and he is the Shepherd.

Jesus laid down his life because he wanted to, that’s how much he loves us-John 10:18-No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. Jesus took our sins upon himself when he laid down his life.

Psalm 23, the whole Psalm speaks all about what the Lord as our Shepherd does for us as his sheep.

Fun Facts about Shepherds:

A Shepherd uses a rod and a staff to protect the sheep. The rod is to beat off wild animals like wolves that may try to harm the sheep. While the staff is used to gently pick up any sheep that may have fallen into a ditch.
