The old, rugged chair-

When I, in faith, take much needed rest in that old, wooden, rocking chair
I know it's supporting substance is already provided there

Its tried and true construction and design
born from a master Craftsman's loving care

The weight of my weak body, it will always be able to bear

The more tired and hurting my creaking bones
and my derriere,
the more I appreciate my wooden chair
always being there

As the top of my head wanes from grey hair,
to a waxing shiny gloss

I will use this same kind of faith
Leaning my weary soul upon
the old, wooden, rugged Cross!
