The Divine Courts

I have listened to several teachings on the Divine Courts. I learned something from every one of those perspectives but some teachers resonate better with my design and specific spheres of influence. Within some of those teachings are bits of false teachings as well. In that case, I ate the meat and spit out the bones.

My personal issue with the Divine Courts has been that at first glance it seems impersonal and formal. That reminds me of religion. So to get past that I have to remind myself that the Judge is my Abba Father and my attorney is my friend-brother Jesus.

We have a family bond because I have the Holy Spirit in me. Plus, I am made in God's image and by His design and thus have a Divine purpose. God and Jesus are truly concerned about their deposit which is the Holy Spirit. They know what is best and want what is best for me.

My accuser, which is Satan, is the prosecuting attorney and he is a legalist. He wants my utter downfall and he wants it to be dramatic and fatal. If he can lead me in a string of endless trauma then he can keep me down. He does not want me to enter my destiny because it could damage his kingdom.

He has a record of everything that I have done wrong thanks to his team of demons. He can bring up the past but if I have repented of it then it is under the blood and of no consequence. But he may try to shame me. That works for some who have not overcome in that area.

The preliminary process is to ask Jesus what rights Satan has against me. For some people this is a quick and short session if they have gone to the courts before and if they keep themselves in right relationship.

For me, I ask the question about any accusations. Throughout the day(s) scenes come to my mind. Sometimes I understand quickly. Other times I need to ask for more information until every issue is resolved. Sometimes forgiveness is needed. Sometimes claiming I did wrong and need forgiveness by the blood is the key. 

Why this was hard for Me 

1) I once went to a church where there seemed to be a teaching that when anything went wrong it was because I needed to repent of something. I have found that is not always the case. Sometimes I am entering new territory and the opposition is challenging my fresh dominion.

My default mode was to repent of everything I could think of until the cows came home. But once generational trauma was removed I was able to more clearly hear the few specific things I needed to repent of. Also, once I got understanding of the challenge to my new authority, then I could rise to the opposition with a new cloak of boldness.

2) Also, I learned from a leader about a process called “having short accounts with God.” This is the process of repentance that keeps you pure in God's sight. When there is habitual sin then the process is to work on it with God to get free.

What I had to learn was: not every thought that came to me came from within me. Sometimes demons outside of me place thoughts from the outside using the first person such as “I feel like a failure.” What is interesting is that I can say in my mind now, “Yes, you (the demon) are a failure because you fell from the throne of grace but I am a success because I am still in God’s 'destined to reign' process.”

I have to discern why those thoughts are coming to me. Sometimes they are:

1) A call to intercession for someone’s emotional needs. Sometimes those calls come because:
2) I am in the atmosphere where someone feels like a failure.  But sometimes
3) It is the sins of the fathers visiting. These would be the failure of a great-great grandpas (16), great-grandpas (4), grandpas (2) and father (1). In that case I need to break off that curse of failure with disagreement to that way of thinking and living. I use the blood of Jesus. Sometimes there have been judgements of failure spoken over my forefather. I break those word curses and forgive those who spoke it.

Essentially, it is about forgiveness and disagreeing with the curses. 

Personal
A good reason to go to the courts is when I see a negative pattern in my life. The point is to find the opening of the sin and to repent of it.

Sometimes the opening is several generations ago and so that crack needs to be plugged up with the blood of Jesus. I must break both the curse in my personal experience and in my bloodline.

Also, sometimes that demonic spirit comes back to challenge my assertion until I have true victory.

Sometimes, I just need to have the boldness to step into the breakthrough. Still, I need Divine strategy to break through the gates of bronze and the bars of iron.

Intercession
Another good reason to go to the courts is for someone else who has a stronghold. This is the true meaning of intercession. It can be for a family member or for someone I care for. It can be for an individual or a people group that I am called to pray for. These people may need a breakthrough in an key area.

The process is still the same. I still need to get right with God first and then get strategy. 

The Protocol
There is a scene in the King and I where the King’s children parade/march before Anna and the King. The children of the king bow but the king does not bow back. There still is a special relationship he has with each. He corrects some and then love on them.

Yet for the son who is the heir, there is confidence. He bows and the King and the queen bow back. If you want to enter your promises then you have to walk like you have an inheritance. Not with arrogance but with true royal boldness.

At the right time in your training you must claim your inheritance. When Joshua and Caleb and the rest entered their inheritance it was little by little but it required faith and maturity. Part of that inheritance is your rulership.

For example, if failure has been the stronghold then you must claim victory.

There is a procedure in the courts. You do not yell or do warfare. You simply state your case. There aren’t a lot of words.

You may say something like: My name means honey and honey symbolizes the sweetness of victory in the Promised Land. I am not a failure but I am victorious. My calling is to lead people into complete victory. I have a right to enter that calling. 

If the accuser does not have anything on you then you win your case. The doors open. But…

If the accuser returns with oppression then you can challenge with Proverbs 6:30-31. The thief must restore seven times more. This means he has to restore everything.

According to the parable with the unjust judge, the Just Judge will avenge his elect speedily. And that is the point of going to the courts. It causes a much swifter response.

Sometimes, we are given a decree to say, or an act to do, or both. Our attorney shows us the way. And that requires relationship. Relationship is an essential piece in this process of going to the courts. Getting your strategy requires intimacy first. There is no way around it. There is a look that the Father gives to His inheriting sons. He is proud of them in the right kind of way. You can feel that look.

Going to the Divine Courts may seem intimidating at first, but in time it can become a way of life.
