Heavenly Father,

I thank you that I have a job,

And a means of supporting my family and myself,

But help me not to see my work as just something that keeps me busy,

Or just the way of putting food on the table,

But help me to see that my job is a way of serving you,

And to be a powerful witness for you in the place where I work,

So please help me to live out my faith in my job,

Help me to honour those in authority over me in the workplace,

And to love my workmates well,

Please give me opportunities to build strong relationships with the people I work with,

And when I meet people in my work who irritate or wish ill upon me,

Help me to respond with grace and kindness,

When I face morally difficult decisions in my work,

Help me to have integrity and act according to your Word,

And give me the strength to complete my job well each day,

And help me not to be ashamed of Christ,

But please give me opportunities to keep sharing the gospel,

So that each day of my work would be for your glory.
