I had a few mornings last week when it was hard to step into work. Mostly because of boredom and sometimes because I stand and work at challenging angles. But a surprising thing happened. One day I mastered something at work that I never thought I’d ever master. I simply thought I would always dread doing it. But that hard thing became my finest work.

Oh how strange and mystical it is. Those tasks I first catch onto, in time, become boring and the things I was challenged with become what I am known for. Such a surprise. I stand back in awe wondering how it happened. My weakness became my strength.

I took a picture of it. It was the face of a lion on a girl and she looks like her hair is on fire. She is roaring. Yes, that is a prophetic picture of me and every child of God becoming the image of the Lion - the courageous One. A chip off the Ancient Rock.

It is hard to paint sometimes. As people watch they don’t understand why those shapes go first and where it will lead. At moments it looks bad and you know what they are thinking. But you just push past it. You say, I KNOW how it will be and it will become just as I envision it. It will all come together – just trust me. Even if the hand slips, I know how to adjust. To hear the sighs when it all does come together.

Yep, that’s how God feels when He is working on painting a masterpiece of our lives. Just hold on! Just wait! It’s going to even look better than the picture that you see. Don’t look in the mirror yet. I’m not finished but when it is complete they will gasp. They will just stop and stare.
