Lord God,

You are the ruler and creator over everything,

You are far greater than anything in this world,

And not even eternity would be enough,

To know everything about you,

Or to describe how amazing you are,

Yet I thank you that you have made yourself known to us,

That you have given us your Word and revealed your love for us in Jesus,

And given us your Spirit,

So as I read your Word and seek to follow you each day,

Help me to grow to know you more,

Help me to know that you are good,

Help me to know you as you truly are revealed in your Word,

And not by what I think you should be like,

And as I look at your creation each day,

Help me to grow to know more of your beauty and power,

And your amazing wisdom,

Which gave order to everything that exists,

And help me not only to know things about you Lord,

But to know you intimately as my heavenly Father,

And I pray that as I grow in the knowledge of you,

This would lead me to grow to fear and love you,

And to want to serve you more and more.
