“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are. Matthew 23:13-15 NIV

Those who teach a false Gospel not only deprive themselves of the kingdom of heaven. They mislead those who wish to find God and serve Him. Those are being led by ones who are blind to the truth. The Lord calls those who are false religious leaders hypocrites, which truly is what they are.

These false leaders are also dangerous in that they find others who will agree with them. They thus create more false leaders, often ones worse than themselves. Oh, but their time is coming, when they will stand before the Lord and be judged.

Do not allow yourself to be lead by false leaders. Read God’s word daily. Pray to Him. Let the Holy Spirit, indwelling you, guiding your ways. Communicate with other Christians. Serve others, and not yourself. Be a vessel, that the Lord may work in and through you.
