What is prayer? Which is the best method of prayer?
Prayer is the key, it is both mysterious and wholesome; it is the way with which we communicate with God and lay before Him our supplications in worship, adoration and request.
Jesus Christ our Lord prayed without ceasing.
So many Christians believe that, there is only one method of prayer: seated/kneeling, alone, in a serene environment, hands placed together, eyes closed, focusing in communication with God.
It is good to pray like this(even Jesus suggested it as one way; Matthew 6:5-13); however there are many more valuable ways to reach the most High, as the occasion demands!There are multiple various modes of prayer, and they can all be used regularly in our lives to create a more diverse and complete communication connection with God.
As we commune with God, sometimes our hearts ache to overflow(Romans 8:26) and we “pray” in an aggrieved and overwhelmed mode. Pouring out our innermost pain/desires as we get deeper in the mood of “conversation” with the one who can make all things possible (1 Samuel 1:15)
In these various situations of highs or lows, we instinctively pray adopting the characters below:
Moses went in humility and faith of God’s power
David confronted Goliath, a boastful and arrogant enemy that continually afflicts his victim
Isaiah had a prophetic ministry, he saw the Lord the year King Uzziah died. Some strongholds must die before certain good things can be made manifest
Elija,a mighty man of God…lived in a time of spiritual decline and apostasy, idolatory and gross evil. A succession of seven wicked kings had reigned over Israel and the wife of one, namely Ahab, Jezebel was notoriously wicked. God sent Elija to confront and break these seemingly difficult strongholds through RAW power from heaven!
Elisha was filled with the double portion of Elija’s spirit. He commanded bears to tear to pieces those who mocked him
Jeremiah Jer 1:1, 4-5, he had a message from God to deliver to the people. Jeremiah 1:10 (1 Timothy 4:16)
Daniel, prayed continually/persistently till there were answers to his prayers
John the Baptist focused on the ‘job’ at hand and said it as it was to evil doers and sinners
Prayer against evil altars are neither gentlemanly nor are they ladylike

Pray without ceasing.

Ephesians 6:18 – And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
