The unanswered question

Many questions remain unanswered due to varied reasons, some due to the lack of knowledge of the person to whom the question is addressed and some due to the confusing way in which the question is presented by the one who asks, yet a bit different reason can also be that the person who asked the question did not even bother or wait for the answer, such is what happened with the Roman governor who judged Jesus, see how Pontus Pilate asks a very vital question, however does not even wait for the answer.

“Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.” John 18:38 NKJV

Just imagine if you are asked to go and check if there is light in a particular room, you go there and find the light brightly shining in the room and when you come back to the one who sent you and convey this , “there is no darkness in the room.”, you have just mentioned the absence of the undesired, yet failed to mention the presence of the desired, such is what happened with Pilate, he said “I find no fault in Him (Jesus)”, had he waited for Jesus’s response to his question, the answer could have been, “He(Jesus) is the Truth.”

Often we fail to wait in prayer with patience to listen to what God wants to speak to us, either directly, through His Word or any other means.

We are always in a hurry when we pray, our one line prayer offered as a formality may not do us much gain, we need to learn to wait in God’s presence. We need to ask God our questions and wait for His answers; we need to trust God for His responses.

We might have prayer points which may have remain unanswered sing long, yet let’s not lose hope, let’s wait and continue to pray, for our God who loves us the best will in His right time provide the best for us.

Thus let’s learn to wait in God’s presence, hear what God says and obey it.
