From the looks of all

the many pairs of shoes

inside our front door

you'd think that 15 people

lived here

instead of the two

that actually do.



From the looks of all

the hats upon the racks

you'd think the same.

It might be because we tread so many

kinds of paths

that we have so many shoes.

It must be because we "wear so many

hats" as they say

over the course of a day

and of a lifetime

that there are such collections

of them at our door!
