For there, the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though had not been anointed with oil………… How are the mighty fallen and the weapons of war perished 2 Sam. 1: 21,27.


BUT WHY ARE THE MIGHTY MEN FALLEN.
But why are the mighty men fallen? Why is their strength lost so easily? For many are the reports reaching us about the untimely death of many great pilgrims in the wilderness of success? Why is it that success is so difficult to keep for so long a time? Many of these were caught unaware and their strengths licked secretly. Great visions and dreams were suddenly terminated by the exploit of pleasure and deception.

“All the people that came out of Egypt that were males even all the men, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt” Joshua 5:4. Why?

“This wilderness of success must be passed by all the anointed and the gifted whose inheritance are in the Promised Land. However reputation and past exploit is not respected in this land. Eloquence and fluency in the language of the land of success cannot bail a victim yet easy for the Christ abiding saints; they will have a safe exit from this dreadful wilderness. But it is a big trap for the rebellious and self-willed pilgrims: for Pleasure and Carelessness are the gate watchers.
The privileged: anointed, gifted, experienced and men and women with profound grace of God upon their lives in the kingdom are sought for in this land. The fierce of all the pilgrims and the mighty among saints are the target! Until they are branded with lust or stranded without grace, or the standard of truth is just lowered a little. Until their fire of zeal is quenched and these are to heaven an enemy, these giants fallers wont relent”.

Then I saw
A Christian, strong among his folks, confidently relaxed in the bosom of a wandering lion, with the thought that it has been tamed. This was an ERROR! Then I saw the wandering lion in it tact feasting on the sleeping foolish and careless giants among saints. I also saw pious Christiana having some friendly discussion with the serpent, two unlike in the business of life! And Christiana giving poisonous bit she wept bitterly in her wounds.

“USELESS PILGRIM” was the word I heard. I was dragged into pity. It was an old man speaking behind me. As He moved closer, he wiped his eye for the tears that willing rolled down His chicks. “Many saints are real disappointments to their God.” He perceived I was willing to know the cause of all these, He then pointed his staff and I looked towards the rays of the stafff:

I saw two giants, a male and a female. She was fatter but both were tall and armed with armour spoken about in the book of Ephesians 6:10-12. Helmet of salvation was on their head- it was golden and shining “what a strong and special creature”, I thought, they must be special beings but the old man said they are not; but they have started the journey quite sometimes ago and they were found faithful and able warrior having good mastery of the word and kingdom principles. I doubted that for the woman but He said she is an expert in using the armour of God and by her record she was an encouragement to many saints.
Then I looked at their legs and saw an “Added-to ”, He called the grace of God; this was what made them Giants-the special creatures. On like other Christians around them, their “added to ” was fitted on shod of the Gospel. I guess it must be very heavy but the old man said it is not because it is the grace of God; It is very easy for them to carry but an unbearable burden for those that were not given the grace. Every other weapon and gift is bore likewise by the grace of God” said the old man.
Then I looked still, the garment they put on was thickly lined with wool, which the old man called the glory of God” though very soft but no arrow can penetrate. On their chest was fastening of the breastplate of righteousness, which was firmly pressed on their garment. Until they move closer you may think they are mere decoration. The loin of truth divided the garment into two. There was a shield in their left hands-it was thick and big: it was long enough to cover their heights. Two edged sword, shining, and sharp and pointed at the tip was firmly held in their hands. There was a whistle resting on their lips with a golden attachment, which hangs on the neck. The old man said that the whistle was meant to link the heaven; God and the pilgrims.

There were many of the likes of these giants- pilgrims, all things were in common except that they were smaller in status for the thickness of their garments and do not have the “added-to” they were walking around these giants with great respects. I believe the Giants were their leaders
I was getting more curious in the way of these giants when the old man started weeping again. I was cut! what must have happened, I thought I had wronged, but he said” No son, you’ll see just now! But whatever you see befallen these giants do not judge, be sure you painstakingly note their mistakes: for in not long time you also will pass through this place, learn those lessons, you’ll have God praised”

Then I saw the city in the wilderness the giants and their followers entered into; they were battled ready for a confrontation. There were two-gate watchers Pleasure and Carelessness they were not scared by the sword of these giants’ warriors. Pleasure and carelessness were not afraid to give them such a pleasant and warm embrace and reception. Pleasure was moderately tall, fat and adorned with all kinds of ornaments while carelessness was of the same status but wore a mask; only a close observant will perceive this! Her hairs were packed to cover the thread of the mask.. They both pretended to be very happy when they sighted the pilgrim and so said they were going to host the giants in the garden called RELAX-SIN”. The giants were very happy, it was not expected has they had fought virtually in the entire wilderness they‘ve been through.

It is now I could see their name boldly written on their helmet, they were BELOVED Christians. Without much thought they both heeded and went to the garden with pleasure and carelessness. There, pleasures set the table with all kinds of fruits and food such they‘ve never come across in all of their pilgrimage; they were set to consume as they couldn’t hold their appetite any longer. Carelessness brought out some drinks with no labeling. The giants loose theirs loins of truth, and dropped the sword and shield for a feasting. Pleasure told them to remove their helmet of salvation, as it is not accustomed to eat with such in this land. This they quickly do, and began the belly contest with occasional songs of thanks to God and these gate watchers. After some time, pleasure requested for beloved Christians whistle “it seems they are different so she could send for copy of it SHE LIED. That was how they were tricked out of God’s presence of the pilgrim’s assistance. When carelessness saw that pleasure had tricked them she presented what she called special drinks to the careless giants. “What a kindness they said and drank!

In few minutes, they slept off. Their loose but hanging loin of truth was removed completely, their feet shod and breastplate of righteousness were removed and they woke up in the dungeon of the tyrant king of the wilderness that swallows the great!
Their followers were scattered. Some were killed, some became faithful citizen of this city and those who escaped did with grievous wounds.
There was a great celebration, beloved Christians are captured: “praise to pleasure, praise to carelessness- able princess of the wilderness that swallows the great”. It was then that I know that Pleasure and Carelessness have thrones; they received stars on their crowns!

I was sad within me, the old man whose face was down all along lifted it up, immediately the scene folded and said” see that you do not fall likewise, for in not long time you shall be giants through me. Those who listen to me were not caught in the web of these giants’ fallers. It is expedient, you must pass through the wilderness, but abide in Christ, keep to the fear of the almighty and I will be with you in all your ways. He went out of the scene: I stayed bowed and prayed with all trembling this kept the journey ahead the more real and dreadful.

Pleasure and Carelessness are two common giants’ fallers in the land of success and achievement. They both walk together. They have wrecked many great, gifted and glorious Christians. They have dethroned many giants and carry them into captivity. They have collected crowns of many kings and enslaved in the camp of their enemies. They have dent many images and spotted many white garments.

If the carefulness that were put into labour before success were still maintained in success,, many would have maintained their success but unfortunately, devil understand the fluency and potency of these giants’ fallers and had seriously used them well.

Many anointed ministers, pastors, evangelists and gifted saints have dropped many of the truth’s strands that got them to this their present height. They have forgotten the understanding of the truth that posses them the fame they have turned to mere title. They have removed the vital ingredient of salvation in their success. The tenacity and fervency of prayers no more have meaning. They are now over fed and relapsed in past glory. Fasting is now only the language of the poor; it is synonymous to Lack! Many have been tempted by the love, admiration and praise that flies about and around them which were not common some years ago they have by these distracted from the course of their master. For pride and self-advertisement. Many are now carelessly treading forbidden joints, making careless promises, associating with careless and reckless people. They are yet a life that devil must celebrate his testimony if they fail.

Sometimes ago you were seriously in need of recognition, but now many are the invitation that flings in, watch this, pleasure and careless always dwell in any environment you see, Love or its replica, popularity, fame, praises, honour wealth. Must God be blamed for meeting your needs or using you? Or must he be blamed for given you grace, Power and gifts? Watch out for these moments! The same old enemy has not change his tactics as he presented to Christ in the wilderness employing the skill of Pleasure and carelessness and other giants’ fallers. Judas failed, Demas ran out of God mercy and so likewise many others today having taste the grace of God. But Paul said

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created things, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 8:38-39

Let he that think he stand take heed less he fall!
