PUBLISHING GOD’S WISDOM AND PROCLAIMING HIS KINGDOM



“DEATH” is merciless and lacks the grace of discretion. He comes in rudely and terminates all activities of his victims. He gives no consideration for plans about to succeed, project near completion and talent that may storm the world very soon. He won’t consider the labour you have put into any of them. When he’s around to terminate, he forcefully seeks to this!

While preparing for my final examination in the high school, I was close to a colleague of mine, the opportunity of which I used to tell him about Christ. In the evening of our first paper, “chemistry practical” on Wednesday, he took ill and on the following Sunday he died before the second paper. I also lost a namesake of mine, a friend the Lord brought into my life at such a difficult time. We were both serving the Lord as a youth. He thought of suicide as the best answer to his failure in one of his O/level subjects and after more than one attempt, he killed himself. He couldn’t proceed to his height in life. In my second year in the university, after the six-month industrial action embarked on by the lecturers, the student union of my school held a candle procession for nine deceased students and three members of staff. In my third year, a course mate of mine had an accident and off he went. A level mate, a one-time trumpet tutor of mine had a brief illness, which led to his death. After graduating, a brilliant young friend of mine died after completing his national youth service corp; I never thought that it could be so soon, but it was.
I lost a promising cousin of mine, an engineering graduate with good job and a wonderful prospect as it appeared obvious. My dear uncle and mummy died about -fourteen years ago. I do have good reminiscence at their remembrance but they were not real any longer. All these have died and their different choices while on the surface of the earth determine how they are remembered as well as their present destination.

I once flipped through the pages of the daily times; I saw fastening of pictures of the dead with various coated eulogy. They were gone and their remembrance is fading. I saw the very aged and young, rich and poor (coded), educated and illiterate, privileged and remote, male and female were ushered into the permanent dungeon of death through various means. In spite of religion, philosophy, language, race, class and knowledge, death is a common factor and all men are slated for this experience. “For it is appointed unto man to die once, after which, judgment.” Heb. 9:27

Then consider these:
By the assignment of this messenger, dreams and hope have been terminated. Good projects and anticipations have been put to stop by him. You have no dream or anticipation, all he’ll cut short. All those you won’t love to leave, by death will be forced to let you go without knowing possibly how you may be fairing in the land called “beyond”; You have to commence the journey into eternity all alone. Just all alone! You’re no more sensitive to emotion neither do you have any contact address where you can be reached or any other means of communication: No mobile or land phone any longer; all you’ve got becomes that of others. You cannot lay claim on your chains of companies or fat bank accounts, neither are yours any longer those precious jewelries. You then would have missed the opportunity of taking the best of decisions you had pushed so long till death sacked you from your grace of thought. Nor can you any longer consider the God you’d run away from, for so long a time; only to probably meet somewhere in the realm “called’ eternity. You are now a “missed Remembrance”.
Your works and deeds will paint these better in the few and long days you have been privileged on the surface of the earth. No one can celebrate your presence any longer; you have none, because every dear one will dump you in the grave. The best that can be offered you is stream of tears, register of condolence; if it’s the matter. Wither flowers once yearly and probably deck you with golden attires and garnish your grave with gold all just to celebrate your decayed or cremated body; but they mean nothing to you. I do always pray you live longer but death is a compulsion, you can’t choose not to when you are due, either facilitated by weakened organs, old age, ignorance and wrong choice of refuge. The greatest of kings, the best of men, the most celebrated princes and princesses have heeded the important and compulsory call of the messenger “Death”. I have heard the death of infant, young, aged, great men, talented, rich poor, destitute and all categories of men and women. And these had been administered in many ways: it could be physically or spiritually triggered a mission; but a soul is departed. There is then the separation between the spirit and body- the exploit of “DEATH”!
I guess it is a score many had thought I should not have brought into the matter, but it is true: life at death does not casually terminate on the surface of the earth. If, what is the reward of doing good in the world where most people make their ways through wicked means? Or what is the reward of committing sins or living righteously? Why the stress of serving God? God will be unjust if it all ends casually like that.

Life is governed by set of laws; common among all, is the law of “sowing and reaping” which is well applicable even after death. If not then, evil is then justified since both righteous and wicked men experience death. How then do you reap the things you’ve sown in many of your activities on this small earth? - Eternity has the proper answer to this. Life won’t causally terminate on the surface of the earth! Let no man deceive you neither deceive yourself either.
It is a mere consolation to impregnate your ignorant heart with such thought. It is a concept that you’ll subsequently regret when zealously seeking to crucify, but I guess then, it must have been, too late! Everyone is remembered by his/her works; the problems and solution you pioneered will definitely tail your exit on earth. The few and numerous sins and wickedness committed on the surface of the earth can’t just be overlooked at death; while you have the option to act rightly. God does not forget good deeds nor does He overlook our un-confessed evils while at this side of eternity. Every of all goods, blessings and peace, that eternity with God holds after life on earth is more than mere moral and religious practices can qualify you for; neither can you by these escape the judgment either. This calls for thoughtful consideration at such a time like this!

But if I were you: I will come to the God whom I’d long neglected for some other things that death can easily dispose me off and still won’t give me any of the godly virtues that can make life after death a peaceful one since death cannot kill God. If I were you, I will depart from the path that leads to sin and destruction before it is too late. I will come to the saviour of life through repentance and confess all my wrong, and commence the walking on the right path till death will be privileged to have me as one of his victims. If I were you I’ll fall in love with JESUS.

If I were you, I’ll use all that had been committed into my hands: GIFTS, LIFE, ABILITIES e.t.c., to bless others and solve problems rather than create any of the one that make people curse my presence on the surface of this life. Life after death is real however not all men are qualified to leave with God in eternity, though He loves that you be there with Him through out the endless duration of eternity, but sins, small or great will disqualify you, except you this very hour confess and repent and give your life to God through Christ.

BY birth you are automatically qualified to live in eternity; only those who were never born will be exempted but to live forever with God, You need to be Born the second time, else, All your eternity may be with unimaginable Sorrow!


But if I were you,
I promise to live life for all it’s worth.
Take all that I’ve been given
And leave my mark upon this earth.
I will trust God to show me
Everything I will ever need
And if I were you
I’ll fall in love with Jesus.

But Lord “…let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! Numbers 23:10
