Let There Be ….

Have you ever tried to envision in your mind what it must have been like in the beginning? When the earth as we have come to know it was without form and void….and darkness lay heavy upon the face of it. It was there…..yet again it wasn’t! To see the Spirit of God hovering over it! To hear Him voice Let there be…..commanding instant order from what, until that precise moment, was only chaos. To watch Him separating…drawing together….putting in place like a cosmic jigsaw puzzle every piece essential for life. Laying down boundaries….boundaries for the firmament…..boundaries for the water above…..boundaries for the land below. Setting celestial courses or liquid pathways each meticulously orchestrated from one Heart.

It beat again! Its pulse visible as all around life burst forth in every form. The sea churned with it. The earth yielded fruit, grass, every good thing in its season. Seed replenishing seed. All creation woven together in perfect harmony, echoing the Heartbeat!

In the Garden the Heartbeat left more visible footprints. First one, then another, each formed in His image. All three walking together heart-in-heart. Perfect harmony flourished reflecting God’s likeness…….until one day a new heartbeat stirred. With its pulse erratic….irregular….self stirred to life and chaos was reborn.
