Virtual Reality

A door opened! One I had long awaited! A fulfillment of dreams! I ran boldly toward it with eager anticipation. But having passed through discovered it not the door I’d expected.
I’d thought it a door to opportunity. You knew it a door to knowing.

I’d dreamed it a door to reward. You knew it a door to realization.

I believed it a door to take me forward. You knew it a door to draw me back.

But there You are…..standing before me. Until this moment, looking into Your eyes, I didn’t know I’d left You.

Despite the nails and hammer cast carelessly in the cross’s naked shadow, it is the scars upon Your brow reminding me the price of love. Your gentle, wounded hands…..outstretched….drawing me to Your feet again.

Suddenly….here….at the feet of Selfless-Love….the emptiness of my own wasted life reveals the selfish shell my life has been. And here Your touch lingers…..soothingly….my name upon Your lips reaching the deepest recesses of my soul….wooing me…as heart to heart together we rise and walk the path of love once more.
