A truthful witness

A lie always needs the support of another lie and in the process of defending a lie to hold on to our stand, we think that another lie would help us when in fact it pulls us further down and quickens our way to disaster.

The best was to correct a lie is to leave it and stand in the truth.

The high priests and the Pharisees had hired Judas to speak the truth in identifying Jesus, for they perceived that the attempt to arrest Jesus may be foiled if Jesus escapes under the cover of a lie, yet this is what happened when they came to arrest the Lord Jesus.

“Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”

They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them. Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.”  John 18: 4-6 NKJV

The Lord was bold enough to stand with the truth and in His presence fell to the ground.

The world watches us who are called by His name, If Christ stood for the truth, Christians ought to be the same.

Truth will not only help us be confident, it will assure us the presence of the Lord and when the Lord will see that through our life we are honoring Him by standing in and for the truth, He will surely send help, comfort and strength.

Whom did Jesus say God the Father seeketh?

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:23-24 NKJV

Let’s be whom the Lord seeketh, worshipping Him in Spirit and truth always.
