Not to Bring Peace, But A Sword

“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.” Matthew 10:34-36 NIV

Most of us have either family members, close relatives, or close friends who do not believe in Christ. There are people who would like to believe in Christ, but won’t for fear of being rejected by any of the above mentioned.

Believers in Christ are set apart from those who are of this world. We do not seek after the same things that those of this world do. To be a follower of Christ, you must accept Him over everyone else. Those who are believers can join you in conversation and spreading of the Good News. Those who are not believers, you can pray for them, that they will have a change of heart. If any chooses to disown you, remember that there is a cost to following Jesus. Do not trade the love of Christ for the love of any person. Christ needs to be first in your life.
