Do Not Be Afraid

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:28-31 NIV

We should not fear those who persecute us. They can kill our body, yet, they cannot destroy our soul. It belongs to God. We shall spend eternity with Him. The ones who should shudder are those who do not believe. They will be cast into the fiery pit of hell, and remain there forever. That should frighten anyone. God knows of the passing away of all creatures. All creation is dear to Him. But, the believer holds a special place in the eye of God. So, we should not be in fear. We just need to remain steadfast to Christ, and obedient to His word. Fear not, as you belong to the Lord.
