  Did you ever notice how common it is in the Bible for individuals to be identified by who their father was and who was his father before him and so on?  This could be the key takeaway, or certainly one of them,  from all the geneologies we find in the Bible.  So as it said of Jacob that his life was bound up in the life of his son Benjamin. (Genesis 44) Our lives as believers too are bound up with the life of our Father.  We are identified by the fact of whose son or daughter we are, like Jesus was and is, only, unlike him, we are not part of the Godhead, never were and never will be.  But sometimes that seems about the only thing denied us in all the treasure, and privilege and gifting that has been lavished upon us.  All this points to the fact and reminds us continually that we are not isolated entities, we are joined instead to a Father and to a family of other beings the Father of Whom is Supreme forever!  In fact the name Levi from the priestly tribe called Levites means "joined."  Joined to our Father through Jesus Christ the Son and High Priest we are also a holy, royal priesthood. (1 Peter 2, v9)  (This doesn't mean we are never alone, but when the aloneness feeds and translates into solitude instead of loneliness it can result in the building up and not the tearing down of dear brothers and sisters.  But that is a subject for another day.)
