My Visitor Tonight
I had a talk with a stranger tonight
Never had seen or met him before
In fact, he’s just left to go home
He just showed up at the door
Was it an accident that our paths crossed?
Somehow-I think not
He came seeking for another
And we ended talking a lot
Somehow our conversation turned to God
And he said that he didn’t like religion
That it had cause his parents to divorce
He’d seen how it causes division
He said that no matter what you do
Some person or church says it’s wrong
That there were no answers to be found
It depended to where you belong
Somehow I found the words to convey
It’s not religion that will save you
It’s not a church or person
But Yahweh you answer to
A new father himself,
He understood the love for his child
I was able to explain
How he himself, was Yahs child
And then he asked me about his marriage
If being a Christian meant they had to part
I explained to him that was not the case
He was to love his wife with all his heart
So many questions he seemed to have
And somehow the answers flowed from me
We spent hours in conversation
Before he finally decided to leave
As he walked out my door
He said “I have an old Bible that belonged to my grandfather
Maybe I’ll sit down and read it sometime”
A miracle had begun to occur
As he was leaving, he turned to me
With tears in his eyes, he simply asked
“If I have more questions-
It is ok if I come back”

This is based on a true story-the odds of this happening are slim-I live in a duplex-hidden behind the main entrance-one has to go through a gate to find me-he was looking for someone who never lived there-Kathleen

Your story-poem reminds us that God uses opportunities to reach others through us. Keep up the Christian walk and may you continue to encourage others in Christ Jesus.
What a wonderful reminder that we never know when an opportunity will come our way....and the impact our caring words can have...
What a sweet reminder to be prepared both in season and out of season to preach the gospel.
