Proven Tips For Increasing Your Energy

With the increased popularity of energy drinks like Red Bull, Monster and Rock Star it is pretty obvious there is a demand amongst the general population for more energy.  We all need energy.  The homemaker needs it for doing her daily chores like cooking, cleaning, laundry and tending to her children.
Athletes need more energy and I have found in my boxing training that unless I have enough energy to go the various rounds I'm likely to lose because my opponent will keep me on the defensive just to avoid getting hit too many times.  Tennis players, wrestlers soccer players all need lots of energy.
The minister of God's word needs it to evangelize, teach and visit the shut ins or disadvantaged who need help in various ways.
So what are some effective ways to gain more energy to help us throughout the day? Consider the following:

1.  Drink more water or herbal tea

Dehydration can cause fatique so it is be no surprise that you need plenty of water or beneficial liquids.  Avoid soda for the most part as it contains too much sugar and phosphorous which can reduce bone density according to the National Osteoporosis Foundation.

2.  Increase Magnesium

Magnesium will help you eliminate waste from your intestines by increasing regular bowel movements thus thus reducing constipation. You should have a bowel movement within about an hour after each meal but most of us don't.  Constipation or can impede your energy levels because when your intestinal tract is clogged you can not absorb nutrients as easily as when our intestinal tract is clean.  So clean out the poop shoot and you will absorb the vitamins and minerals from organically grown food.  Rich sources of magnesium can be found in spinach, cashews, almonds.  Make sure to eat the nuts raw so as to obtain the vital enzymes.  Spinach can be cooked but can also be eaten raw by chopping it up in a blender and added to smoothies or stirred in with scrambled eggs.  NOTE:  Supplement with calcium for better absorption.

3.  Get More Sleep

It's debatable exactly how many hours of sleep you need because every body is different.  According to the author and founder of Youngevity who I've met on seveal ocassions,  Dr. Joel Wallach,  you only need 5-7 hours per night.  However, if you still feel tired you may be suffering from sleep deficit or deprivation in which case you might have to increase the hours to 8 or 9 until your body is fully charged.

4.  Reduce Simple Carbs

Simple carbs include any snack food using processed sugars, candy, cakes, pies, soda, cookies or anything with white flour.  These will give you the yo yo effect, i. e. you energy will increase in the short term but eventually you will begin to feel tired and probably crave more sugar which will tend to make you fat or gain unnecessary weight.  For long term sustained energy think complex carbs like fruits, veggetables, beans, nuts and whole grains.

5.  Cut Back On TV Watching & Listen to More Music

The average person spends far too time watching mindless TV which is filled

with immoral programming, situation comedies, violence and profanity filled content which is dishonoring to Jesus Christ. According to Statista.com the average U.S. consumer spent 289 minutes (4h 49min) daily watching TV in 2015.

NOTE: Remember what the Psalmist wrote in Psalms 101:3 "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me."

Instead listen to sacred or classical music which is more in harmony with the Spirit filled believer.  Unbelievers will disagree and probably enjoy rock and rap and anything that pleases the flesh but for the Christian the God ordered music that makes plants and flowers thrive is the order of the day.  There is something in the way God programmed us as creatures that makes us respond to certain music.  This is not to say that all so called rock music is unworthy to be heard.  There are exceptions but the rule is to focus on music that inspires the human spirit to living Godly and avoiding sin.

I trust this article has helped you to think seriously about getting the necessary energy you require to perform your daily work and activities.  Keep in mind all the above are natural remedies for increasing our energy but there is another means of energy not included in the 5 that believers have and that is power of the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit that controls the life of each true Christian.  He empowers us to do above and beyond what we can produce of ourselves.  Therefore, let us walk in the Spirit and mind the things of the Spirit while we prayer that God would increase our energy and strength so as to serve Him more effectively.  Whether we eat or drink we must do all to the glory of God.  (1. Cor. 10:31)
