Adultery In the Heart

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:27-28 NIV

Based upon this passage, how many men, and women have thus committed adultery? I am sure the figure for those who have done so in their heart exceeds those who have done so in deed. And if not even within the heart, what other sin has been committed within the heart? The world provides so much temptation which can lead to sin in many manners. The one who conquered sin, through His death, died for us, knowing we are sinners, and will fall into sin at times. It is the nature of the flesh.

Come to Christ with your sins. Bring your remorse and mourning to Him. Let Him remove the stain of impurity from your heart and soul. Let Him cleanse you with His sacrificial blood. You must be reunited to Him to advance His kingdom, and to work in the harvest field. The heart with remorse, seeking repentance and forgiveness will not be turned away by Christ. Rest in Him.
