To open your eyes to the darkness,
ever present in the waking hours
Blessed sleep where are you?
i don't want to be like this!

To feel hurts so much...
yet not to feel hurts even more..!
My very own self depresses
the mickey out of me.

There is no winning the pain
when depression has hold of me
best just succumb straightaway
to giving in to my sins.

The strength to go on long gone
every step dragging feet
every bloody step of the way
hurts like hell.

Why am i here right now
as not to hurt my failures
and overwhelming distress
at being me as be?

Yet rock bottom who do i meet?
Jesus in His distress at seeing me
sweating my inner hell
while He has Heaven prepared for me.

It is for me to let go of the lies
those things dragging me down
finding Christ's truths to reign
Seeing His light streaming within
