The last few years has seen a marked increase of Israel as a tourist spot.  More and more ministries, along with the Israeli government, have taken to the airwaves and the Internet to show off the land of the Bible for an increasing tourist base.  Of course, tourism overseas ‘separates’ the rookie tourist from the veteran sage of the sand.  There are more than a few books on the market that are willing to serve as a guide as to the mysteries of this section of the world.

Dr. Paul Lee Tan, no stranger to Israel because of his various trips to this land leading a variety of groups, has a great work that would best be called a hand-held best friend for the Mideast traveler.  “Holy Land Study Guide: Israel, Jordan, Sinai, and Egypt” by Dr. Paul Lee Tan (2013, 252 pages, Bible Communications, Inc.) offers not only background information on biblical ‘must-see’ areas, but includes Scripture references and Bible background on many key points.

The Study Guide contains lots of colorful pictures, that is true.  However, it also contains a checklist of what you will need for your journey to the Holy Land.  One of the fun features of the book is that it has a section on how to ride a camel, what foods of the region that should be sampled, and some photos of some of the historic areas which should be visited.

“Holy Land Study Guide: Israel, Jordan, Sinai, and Egypt” by Dr. Paul Lee Tan can also be used by those who would like a deeper means of studying their Bible.  Thus, Pastors and the regular Christian would be blessed by this work.

It can be found through your favorite electronic bookseller, or, through www.TanBible.com.
