The Danger of Anger

“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment. But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.” Matthew 5:21-22a NIV

 

Uh oh! I don’t know about you, but I certainly do not wish to be subject to judgement by the Lord. Yet, Jesus tells us that if we are angry with a brother or sister we will be subject to judgement.

 

Did you know that anger is not healthy? It can lead to much adversity, health wise. How does one rid themselves of anger? The best way to do so is to turn your anger over to God. Tell Him that which lies behind your anger. Ask Him humbly to take the anger away, replacing it with His love. Ask Him to help you to see with His eyes, that the anger might be removed, as you see as He sees.

 

Do not subject yourself to judgement. Release your anger to God. Rest in His love, and share His love with all.
