History
Many of our American holidays are according to an occult pattern. For example, Valentines Day, Ground Hog’s Day, Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, and Christmas all are times for occult activities. In the 4th century Constantine took those days and made some of them into Christian holidays.
So, here’s the real news: Jesus wasn’t born on December 25th. Fake news didn't just happen with Facebook and the rest of social media; it has been with it for centuries. Since we don’t know when Jesus was born then today is as good as any day to celebrate His birth. Yet, the Bible does not say that we should celebrate His birth, only his death and resurrection. To make things a little bit more confusing, the word ‘Christmas’ means Christ’s death.
Some of our Christmas traditions are pagan and even from the occult. The classic items like trees, wreaths, Yule logs, and some aspects of the Santa story are really not Christ-like at all. Some of those seasonal favorites like elves, reindeers and sleighs can be attributed to the Nordic legend of Thor. Sometimes ancient myths are actually demon legends.
Yet, there is a true story of a Christian named St. Nicholas who put money in the stockings of three young girls who would be sold as slaves if they couldn’t pay their father’s debt. In that same generous, kind, and debt-canceling mode we celebrate what Jesus did for us and what He can do through us.
In the midst of all the swirl of traditions we can find the true meaning of Christmas like Charlie brown did. Maybe Chuck can’t pick a good tree but Linus told him the real story from the 2nd book of Luke.
The block that I live on seems to have a competition in their light displays and that appears to be a parable on the season. In the middle of all that glitz and glam - and these people went all out - is one house that has a simple sign that says: Jesus.
So, simply - and I mean simply - celebrate Jesus today. Celebrate His birth, death, and resurrection. Celebrate that you are a child of God saved from Satan’s traps and eternal misery in Hell. Be grateful that you were born-again with a Heavenly birth into Eternal life and hope. Delight in your adventurous journey with God in becoming an inheriting son or daughter.
See if you can love the unloveable that you are spending time with in this season. Just see if you can accept them with their warts and demonic manifestations. Just focus on being the house with the simple sign in the yard that says: Jesus. Because it's not about them. It's about Christ in you the hope of glory. Be Jesus in this season.
