Law is like old husband where he died and the woman is free to marry other. Romans 7:2&3. And also like guardian or peon or school attendant but not like teacher. Galatians 3:24. Lastly like wrong medicine which may be costly but of no use for the problem of sin. Here Jesus Christ is the right medicine. And also like driving licence but do you have driving skill? Law also like photo negative but the photo positive is grace of Jesus.

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. Romans 7:4. Jesus came to establish the relationship of the gospel through the law. Is law useless? God forbid. Because we uphold the law. Old Testament law is an unit. That means breaking one rule or commandment is breaking all. Law like balloon and ball if one puncture all gone. Where because nobody can't able to keep whole law brought rebellion. Law by no means is all holy. In Jesus we obeyed the law. Seeking status quo with God and human by mere law generates self-righteous and critical spirit. Galatians 5:15.
Law was given to Moses after 430 years promise of Israel was given to Abraham. Law was given for a different purpose. Because the purpose of law is know the sin. If there is no commandment or law one cannot say this is sin. Apart from law sin is there but not taken into account. Romans 7:7-8. Now sin is lawlessness. 1 John 3:4. Law has temporary mission. Even Law deserves even the permanent mission. Law shows us our sin and points us to Christ. Love does no harm to its neighbour therefore love is the fulfillment of law. Romans 13:10. Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. Romans 10:4.

So in everything do to others as you would have them do to you this sums up the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12. This golden rule is 100% law and the prophets in one sentence. Jesus said decalogue or ten commandments are summarized into two commandments which the greatest commandment love the Lord your God with all your heart mind soul and strength. And the next is as you love yourself love your neighbour. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:37-40.

Law is for the unsaved because if they do not have the law they stumble. 1 Timothy 1:9. Law is like tutor but when we are owner we do not need law. Hagar is law but Abraham would not have needed. Sarah is grace and promise. Galatians 4. Rabbi Hillel is asked to tell the whole law in one sentence he told what is hateful to you do not do to anyone else. This is the whole law and the rest is the commentary. Go and learn it.

Christians believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus but not through observing the law. Ephesians 2:8. We are not saved by good works but we are saved to do good works. Christianity is not all rules or no rules but an experience with Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ replaced law with himself and his words. Covenant always comes with commandments or laws. Repentance to commandment is not important repentance to Jesus Christ is important.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:3-4.
