From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 4:17 NIV
The kingdom of Heaven is near. What does that mean? Is it something we can view, touch, and gaze upon? It is so much more than just that.
Jesus tells us in John 10 “I am the gate.” One must pass through a gate to enter into a desired property. One must pass through a door to enter a house, and another moving from room to room. We can enter the kingdom of heaven by passing through Christ. He is the way to heaven. Heaven can be attained now. Heaven is more than just a place. Heaven can, and should be in your heart. Jesus invites us all. It is an open invitation. We, though, must be willing to accept the invitation. Why not seek the one who can provide you with eternal life, with unending peace and joy? Why not have your heart and soul cleansed of the enslavement to sin that has held you captive since birth?
Do you really know how near the kingdom of heaven exists? It is not just a place we will live in for eternity. It is that which can dwell within you. We can share all the Good News of Christ. Nearer than you think is the kingdom of heaven.

Good, clear message, that you have the kingdom, as least the part when Christ dwells within you, here on earth. Whenever I asked Sandi about her believe in Jesus, she said "Jesus is in my heart."
I just got a book out by Max Lucado that goes into more depth about losing a loved on, which someone from church recommended. "You'll get through this: Hope and Help For Your Turbulent Times."
