Dear friend,
It had been three long, harsh, hard years since it rained. Scarcity of water and moisture had metamorphosed into acute scarcity of food for people and grass for animals! Worse still, a deadly state of famine had set in, that had the tendency of deteriorating into excessive cannibalistic practices - unless God intervened fast! Consequently, the Word of the Lord through Elijah the prophet healed the land, glory to God! Welcome to Israel in the reign of King Ahab in the capital city, Samaria.

It's difficult to fully appreciate the relief, comfort, and saving power of God's blessings when we haven't experienced sharp hunger pangs or some other major struggle with hardship, bankruptcy, sickness, fear etc. That's why it's quite easy for some of us to say "All we need is salvation from our sins" Yes, God knows sin is a hideous and terrible enemy of man, but there are other enemies!

It's very important to know what Jesus Christ gave us in exchange when He came, suffered, died, shed His precious blood and resurrected unto the Father. This singular glorious act of our Lord Jesus Christ grants us the right and access to the blessings of God as undeserved free gifts and inheritance! Therefore we have no business with the verdict of contrary circumstances and situations, lest we lose our inheritance!

(a) Jesus Christ deliberately became sin for us, to break the power of sin, giving us His righteousness as undeserved free gift and inheritance - the only qualification for eternal life (this is simply amazing!) - 2Cor.5:21; 1Pet.2:24.

(b) Jesus Christ became sick deliberately, by receiving stripes, to break the power of of sickness, disease, and infirmity. By this, He gave us His divine health in exchange as undeserved free gift and inheritance. Absolute faith in this will heal any incurable disease or situation! (This is powerful!) Matt.8:17; 1Pet.2:24.

(c) Jesus Christ became poor/bankrupt deliberately, to break the power of poverty/bankruptcy, giving us His entire wealth (which supersedes Solomon's) as undeserved free gift and inheritance (what an enormous blessing!) 2Cor.8:9; Gal.3:13,14; Gal.4:1-7.

Our current status as joint heirs or brothers/sisters of Jesus Christ is the most amazing manifestation of God's love for us.(Heb.2:11,12.) I assure you that God's abundance of peace, joy, good health, and financial resources has started raining down on you! Before Elijah the renowned prophet saw the rain, he called it forth by prophecy 1Kg.18:41. Then he took up the prophecy in fervent intercession and consummated his prayers with action/faith vs.42, 43.

Effectual praying and persistence make us persevere. Some miracles and breakthroughs take a while, but they're worth contending and tarrying for. Some of us miss the great blessing because they start showing up in little packages! But Elijah the prophet was too smart, sharp, and alert not to know that a little cloud of answered prayers will always culminate in superabundance of miracles, signs, and wonders! - 1Kg.18:41-46.

In Christ Jesus, we have the right as sons/daughters to God's storehouse of abundance. Now, look again, it's raining!
