It is not just a childish fantasy but every person's secret dream to have either a fairy Godmother or Godfather who will pop up from thin air with a magical wand and grant us all our wishes whether in times of happiness or sorrow. Someone whom we can depend upon and will solve all our problems with a wave of the hand. Who will reach us in no time!

Well, we have to look no further because this person is Jesus Christ himself. He never leaves our side, is attuned to our every call, prayer and supplication.
He sends us a new joy every day and is there to hold our hands in times of trials. We are never abandoned by Him. He is not only around us here to give us the best on earth but He has prepared an out of this world reward for us, exquisitely  designed for an eternal life with Him.

In return do we do even a fraction of what he does for us to show Him our love and gratitude?
The best way to do so is to attend the Eucharist not just on our Sunday obligation but also if we can on a daily basis.
To come to the Eucharist is to go to Calvary every time. To be standing at the foot of the Cross along with Mother Mary and St. John. To offer our own tears of anguish at the piercing of the heart of Jesus and to glorify His Resurrection and conquering over death.

The Eucharist is where we offer Praises to the Living God, Thanksgiving for all His favors, Adoration and Worship to the King of Kings and Petitions for our own intentions.
It is infact a part of  heaven on earth.
All the Heavenly beings and Saints are united to us in the Eucharist that is being offered at that moment.
Unseen by us, they are all very much present with the Trinity in the center.
If we only understood the real significance of the Eucharist, we would be filled with an insurmountable joy.

A peasant woman going through hard times once went to a grocery store to buy food for her hungry children. She had no money to offer the shop keeper but told him that she would offer him a mass for his well being. At this the man laughed and told her to write on a piece of paper the word 'Eucharist' and place it on one side of the scale. He said he would weigh the value of the Eucharist. But no sooner had he done this, and started putting the grocery items on the second scale, the first scale did not move at all. He kept filling more items but still the first scale remained the same.
He could not balance the scales at all.
He then realised the Value of the Eucharist and apologized to the peasant woman handing over to her all the groceries for her children. This experience too converted his heart and brought him closer to Christ.

The next time, we get ready to attend the Eucharist, let us dress our minds, hearts and souls accordingly that we are in fact going all the way to Mount Zion to kneel at Calvary in front of the Crucified Lord and to extol His Rising from the dead at the Garden tomb and his Ascension into the glorious skies.
Jesus is present Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Eucharist and we receive Him into our hearts where He becomes one with us.
We have to pay attention to every part of the Eucharist which is significant to the life of Christ. No day dreaming is allowed. We are standing in front of God Himself. He comes from Heaven to be with us during this time.

If we have ever missed the Sunday Eucharist on account of any reason, may we not delay in confessing this in the Sacrament of Reconcilation to be set right with God and free from any mortal sin. As we all know the Third Commandment handed down by God himself to Moses encompasses this doctrine.
God is ever ready and  eagerly awaiting to take us back into His loving arms in the Eucharist which is His embrace that will last forever.

There is a beautiful line; "I am not in control but am deeply loved by the One who is."
When Jesus is in control, we have to just give ourselves into his hands and He will do the rest for us.
As it is rightly said that the best things in life are those that touch our hearts and last a lifetime in our memories.
When the Eucharist touches us, in this heart to heart contact, where the Heart of Jesus becomes our own heart, we don the very nature of God to follow Him right into the heavenly domain.
