You rule over my heart
Through the liturgical year
Right from the advent start
To the closing of everyday time.

You rule over my heart
From the heavens in the clouds
To the earthly dwelling below
Your Word is Law to my soul.

You rule over my heart
With the humility you impart
To the awe launching love you give
You set an example to follow.

You rule over my heart
From the paradise you feed my eyes
To the longing to be at your side
Your throne is a sought after place.

You rule over my heart
From your Nativity into this world
To the Easter hope you promise
You fill my days with a sure outcome.

You rule over my heart
From the simplicity of life you show
To the thundering emotions that glow
You set my life ablaze with your light.

You rule over my heart
From the majestic ruling in time
To the years awaiting to roll in
You alone are Master and King
Truly my Christ the King!
