My Relationship with My Fathers

I grew up with a good earthly father. From time to time my dad would ask me my opinion on various topics. It was mainly on political and social issues, but he actually wanted to know my thoughts. He would share his, and when we disagreed he would allow me to fully express my thoughts before changing to a topic that we both agreed on. He was diplomatic. He even apologized to me once. I often ponder on how he rarely disciplined me but when he did I deserved it.

Not everyone grew up with this kind of relationship with their father. In fact I believe that most people did not. They were not allowed to have or express their opinions. This colors their relationship with God as a Father. They may be able to believe the Lord is powerful or that He is God of the angel armies but they don’t know Him as approachable or that wants to listen. They don’t feel that they can truly communicate with Him like David did in the Psalms. They can’t bare their soul. They have to be perfect with their words or they believe God will zap them.

Some people never had a father or rather they never knew their father. Their view of God may be one of absence or distance. They may have the generation curse of a slavery mentality. They see God as a master, and even their pastor as a master whipping the slaves into order.

Is God like my earthly Father? He is relationally; He wants to know my thoughts. As I move and explore in the area of the arts, He is there giving me ideas of how and what to write. He is my chief editor.

He gives me an assignment to draw people and the next thing I know I discover a new anointing.

God tells me to pray for a foreign leader that I know nothing about. And then I see Him move. I am addicted to watching how the world’s political chess board is played out by His hand. He is amazing and his secrets are astounding.

I watch as some big-name prophets prophecy out of a familiar spirit because they contradict what God is showing me. It is at those times when I question whether I hear from God but eventually the truth is exposed that there are prophets flip-flopping between the real and the counterfeit. They just don’t know they need deliverance from deceiving and lying spirits – in other words familiar spirits.

God gives me poetic dreams to interpret and sometimes He flashes key moments of those dreams while I am writing.

He has given me a passion for all of the gifts and especially the prophetic with all its facets and not just the common (cliché) ways. Many people miss the subtle and unusual ways.

Yahweh has given me a teacher anointing so I can go deep into the rabbit hole; I usually chose the red pill.

I get to be a vessel to destroy the works of the enemy. I see where he is operating and cancel the snakes assignment with the power and authority of the Spirit.

I learn from the good and the bad experiences. In fact, I learn more from my bad experiences so I can minister to others who have been spiritually abused by religious leaders or get side-tracked by Satanic plants or infected by demons.

He has given me the bow and the arrow which is the ability to spot false from true doctrine. One way leads to death, oppression, and dysfunction; the other leads to freedom, power, and joy.

He has given me the Ezra anointing which is a writing anointing but it deals with reformation.

He has shown me that the number of followers a person has doesn’t matter; only the fruit of transformed lives matter. This means that the mentally ill are being freed from their torment and the physically ill are made whole. This means the lost are found and turned into disciples and not just Christians and revenue. The lies of the enemy are exposed so that the abundant life can unfold and real ministry can happen.
