In an empty room with four walls
and rows and rows of closed doors
there I stand somewhere in the middle.

A door opens and in walks a demon
It looks like a human with a mask
But I can see through the two holes
aware that those loathing eyes
are fixed on mine as it walks mechanically
toward me to conquer me, to kill me.

It tell it where to go
It turns around real slow and
returns to its door
It walks out and closes the door behind
I am relieved.

But then another door opens
Again, I say: Go to the pit
In Jesus’ name! And it leaves

Another door opens
This pattern repeats again and again
Until my voice leaves; I can’t speak another word
I feel doomed because another demon
has entered the room.

But this time to my surprise
It turns into a rug and begins to slide
under my feet
I lift my leg and stomp just one time
And it disintegrates. Finally, there is peace.
