He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:44-49 NIV

Jesus let the disciples know that everything which had been written about Him in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled. Then our Lord opened the eyes of the disciples so that they might understand the scriptures. This was very important. Along with the Holy Spirit, which was to be sent to them, would provide these men what they needed to preach the Good News about Jesus Christ. Repentance for the forgiveness of sins, through Christ, was and is to be preached.

We, today, also have our eyes opened to the scriptures through the indwelling Holy Spirit. We need to pray that the Spirit will provide us with wisdom so we might share the truth about Jesus Christ with those we meet.  We must also know the gifts we have for sharing the Good News, and utilize them to their fullest benefit.

As one shares with others about the greatness of God, and all He does for us, the one who shares is filled more with the fire of the Lord within them. It is spiritual food for us as we share about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Unlike earthly food, this is a food that a true believer shall never go tired of sharing with others. Feast upon the goodness of the Lord, and share it always with others!
