Therefore… partners in a heavenly calling, keep your focus on Jesus,…… Hebrews 3:1 (ISV)
Wonder why you keep getting off your lane and towards different directions whiles driving? The problem is not because you don’t know where you are going. Your destination is very much known to you and you get on the road eager to get there. But somehow, that rarely happens. And whenever you find yourself moving towards unplanned destination you go back beating yourself up for that. But you shouldn’t because there is one thing you can do to ensure that you move towards your destination.
All you must do is to keep on eyes on the road leading to your destination. If you keep looking towards another direction because something else is drawing your attention, you get distracted. And there is this funny thing that happens when your eyes are fixated on the object. You find yourself driving towards it without much effort. This usually means we get off our path and move in the wrong direction. Now we understand why we keep beating ourselves up for making choices and acting in ways which are contrary to God’s will. We wonder why we keep drawing closer to our fleshly desires instead of drawing closer to God. That’s because we keep getting our eyes off HIM and what HE desires because of all the distractions calling out to us which we desire deep down within us. Let’s look straight ahead. Looking around when driving is necessary because there are road signs that inform our decisions on our journey but should not to distract us.
