Who Scattered The Sheep

Psalms 100:3
Know ye not the Lord he is God, it is he that hath made us and not we ourselves, we are his people and the sheep of his pasture

St. John 10:11-14
I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Be he that is a hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth; and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. He hireling fleeth, because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Scattered sheep is as broken glass. When you break a dish or glass or anything, when it hits the ground or floor, it scatters. When we mishandle God’s people, we are guilty of scattering the sheep.

Sometime you salvage some, and sometime you lose some. Just as when you clean up glass, you may miss some of the pieces. Sometime the piece is too fine to see and that’s how it is in people lives. We can’t always see all of the pieces of the puzzles of our life as God has placed in position just by looking. We have to look inside the heart of man and see the brokeness. God has to break us down into fine glass sometime to get all of mind body heart, soul, and us. However glass can always rarely be put back together again, if we come to him with a broken and contrite spirit. He can then mold us and make us into what he wants us to be.

The shepherd or the sheepherder is the one that leads the sheep. David is the shepherd that kept the sheep. David also was King over the House of Israel. The Patriachs that lived a nomadic and pastoral life and the children of Israel to a large extent continued to be shepherds after their settlements in Canaan, Mt. Carmel, Sharon the Hill Country South of Hebron, Gilead, and Bashan were noted for their pastures. Jacob refers to the laborious life of the shepherd; its characteristic features are the same to this day. They dressed in a shirt of unbleached cotton, with a leather girdle, and a large cloak of sheepskin, or wool or hair, which also serves for a blanket at night. He carried a scrip or provision pouch of kidskin, a gourd for holding water or milk, and oak staff six feet long, and a weapon in the form of an oak club, two feet long, the thick end of which is studded with nails. The shepherd stays with his sheep night and day. How long are we willing to tarry to save the lost. Talk about save the lost at any cost. Who scattered the sheep?

I Corinthians 13:1 say when I was a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things. When sheep shape up and is coming together under the unction and function of the Holy Ghost, they have been refined, their minds is changed. They grow as a little one into an adult. Their ways change, their mannerism is different. They don’t walk around with a pacifier in their mouth, but they eat and eat more potent substances. A sheep learn and do by following their shepherd. As the shepherd lead and teach them, they pull off childish, babyish things and began to stand strong in the things learned. Their understanding is enlightened, they think on the things that they have learned and as it penetrates the mind their thoughts flourish away from childish things. God understands that we are growing into perfection, but no one should still be where he or she was in the last year right now. Growth should be noted and if not then we need to avail ourselves more to the things of God. We don’t want to be retarded in any area of our walk. We want growth. Sometime we don’t grow because we love pleasure more than godliness.

Proverbs 21:17 say that he that love pleasure shall be a poor man. He that loves wine and oil shall not be rich. We yield more to the flesh rather than the things of God.

Proverbs 20:11 say even a child is known by his doings, whether his work is pure and whether it is right.

We can scatter the sheep by how we ourselves think, speak, and carry ourselves. If a broken sheep hear us confessing unbelief, doubt and complaining, why should he follow you? If he sees you in your condition and times of persecution thinking foolishly and carrying yourself loosely, he’s not going to follow you. Are you a sheep scatterer? Be pure in what you do, be right in what you do. Let your conversation be upright, pure, and wholesome at all times. They say practice makes perfect, but perfect practice makes perfect. Practice what you preach and teach to others. Of course you won’t always understand the way you go because the Bible says man’s goings are of the Lord, how can a man then understand his own way.

Sometime to keep the sheep together, we have to go where and when we don’t understand. Sometime we have to gather up the broken pieces and put them back together again and don’t understand why, but by and by God will reveal what is going on. Why do we how love to someone that has hurt us, hurt God, fall from grace. Sometime that very person is whom God has chosen to break into pieces, that he may put them together again, shape them up and use them for his glory to save a nation.

Proverbs 18:24 says a man that hath friends, must first show himself friendly; and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother, Proverbs 17:17 says a friend loveth at all times. Who is our friend, that broken piece of glass. That scattered sheep that God wants to bring to the fold. God wants them to have a better life, a new life hid in Christ. If there is ever a word from God, it’s now. There are hurting people, people with real problems. Broken, rejected, misfits, that don’t feel they fit in anywhere, in the church or out. They are just lost. These are the people God sees everyday. These are the ones we pass by everyday and we are so shaky and feeble, they just don’t even catch on to us. Some things in your life hurt and turn you to God, sometimes not. They wonder is the party real or not. We dress up and look the role but they watch our lives and wonder if the party we’re going to real or not. A sinner relates the House of God to a party. This is what they see so much. Who wears the finest clothes, finest hats, drives the finest cars to the finest church. Is this how we are coming off to the broken pieces out there, the broken and lost sheep. They look at some of us and run to the marijuana, run to the rock, but there is a greater rock that will cause their lives to change forever and Jesus is that rock, not crack. He is the rock of our salvation. We need to move ourselves out the way, so God can come out and rock the sinner’s life through us. We need to pray the Hell out of our children and the lost out there. Salvation must first start at our house.

People, everything in this world is subject to a higher calling. Who knows when the call will come? Will you be prepared? Will someone follow you?

The Devil your adversary is seeking to devour you. Don’t accept what he has to offer, it’ll only cause you death. Escape; flee to the mighty hands of Jesus. Who will make you able men and women to stand in this time to direct some sheep back to pasture? He will comfort you along the way in all things. No matter what comes or goes, he is right there to comfort you, now he is saying to you to comfort ye my people, lead them to that higher rock, help them to put the pieces of their broken life back together again. Take a piece and make it.

If you have not asked Jesus to be your savior or you were saved and not currently living for the Lord, you need to be saved. The word that you will hear can only bless you if you are saved. God wants to save you and give you his best, but you must give him your life. If you are saved and have not yet received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost is the keeper of your saved life. Being saved is the beginning, you need the Holy Ghost to lead and guide you into doing God’s will for your life. The Holy Ghost comes when you are open to receive him and are rejoicing. God wants to fill you with his spirit. The evidence that have received him is the speaking in a language of prayer and praise that you can’t understand. The Holy Spirit will not cause you to act wild and unseemly but you will want to rejoice by lifting your hand and verbally thanking God for his gift. If you need healing, healing is God’s will, he wants to heal and deliver you from all you illnesses. The Word of God says that believers will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. The Bible says if there be any sick among you, let them call for the Elders of the Church (or the shepherd) and they will anoint them with oil, pray the prayer of faith and they shall be delivered.

Psalms 44:22 say yea for thy sake are we killed all the daylong; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. We will be persecuted, but don’t be a persecutor. Lead the sheep to green pasture. Keep the word and don’t be a shepherd that scatters the sheep. Who scattered the sheep, don’t let it be you.
