As I was waiting to see someone in a meeting room, I noticed a piano nestled in a corner.  Since there were so few people around I thought I'd sit and "play at" playing to while away the time.  After I had exhausted all my repertoire of improvised tunes, I turned toward one of the few within earshot, a silver-haired man in a wheelchair with a cast on his left leg. From something he had said earlier I knew he was at least a little familiar with playing and reading music.
"I liked ONE of the notes you played," he remarked but not sarcastically, holding up a finger I think.  Of all the multitude of notes I played, I had struck one (perhaps by accident) that he liked!
"Oh well," my loving wife reassured me later, saying something like, "If he liked even ONE note you played, it was  worth playing I suppose."
And worthwhile it was indeed, even if only to elicit that priceless comment.
