“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.” Luke 8:16-18 NIV

Jesus said to us that He was the light of the world. We who are His followers are light for the world, even though we are not the “light” of the world. Light is not meant to be hidden; it is meant to be seen. We cannot hide with what the Lord has given to us. There is no such thing as a closet Christian. We are meant to share what we have been given by God. We who are His followers are equipped through the Holy Spirit to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. There are different ways the word can be shared. We must share in some manner or another. As we give just as God has given to us, we will be given even more to be shared. We are told above whoever has will be given more. God can keep on giving and providing more and more to the one who shares and does not just hold unto themselves. Light is to bring forth all, and as Jesus has said, all will be brought forth, nothing will remain concealed.

Let thy heart give with abundance. Share the light within your heart and watch as your heart shines brighter. No evil can shut out the light within the heart of a true giver of the light of Christ!
