Perched on a cliff flung far into space stood an old looking castle half way resembling a home and a hotel. It's rustic appearance was grandiose and part of the statuesque structure put my eyebrows on stilts in a momentous stare.
Nestled in the background was a forest of evergreens barely giving the front visibility much like a plain looking fashion model whose face alone remained uncovered.
Musing out loud I whispered to myself, "I wonder if this is the place?"
Grabbing my binoculars I decided to zoom in for a better look.
"Take er down" I hollered.
"Let's try to get within a stone's throw. There's no time to waste."
The chopper circled the sky furiously for about a minute or so until my head became dizzy. Then as if the pilot could read my mind we hovered almost silently and motionless in the cool atmosphere like an eagle gliding effortlessly through the air awaiting it's prey.
"Well..." came the voice from the cockpit.
"Yeah, I think this might be the place but just to be sure take her around the back," I said.
From the backside of the house I could see a large swimming pool with several men and women with glasses and plates in their hands.
Smoke twisted through the air from an outdoor barbeque so I figured the grilled snacks were just about ready to eat.
The pre party gathering looked like it was just starting and I was hopelessly late again by a quarter of an hour.
Sometimes having the complimentary tickets to an upcoming convention where I was the key note speaker has its advantages or I might have arrived at a secured but vacant residence all dressed up and no place to go.
