Three little heartbeats...three little lives but which one do you keep?
For many women having children is a top priority and invitro fertilization, also known as IVF, has become an option to helping women have babies but this controversial procedure is fraught with ethical questions.
What exactly is In Vitro-Fertilization or (IVF)?
It is a medical treatment which helps infertile couples to have a baby. It involves giving a woman fertility drugs to produce more eggs than she would normally produce and combining this with the sperm from a male partner (or donor) presumably her husband but not necessarily so. Then the resulting embryo is implanted in the female partner (or surrogate) womb.
In addition to the ethical considerations of this procedure and the questions it raises among doctors, nurses, patients, scientists and pastors it has also lead to the justification of another procedure which is possibly more controversial and that is called selective reduction.
Suppose you are a women experiencing infertility. You turn to "the expert" who specializes in helping a woman get pregnant. The doctor convinces you to plant two or three embroyos inside with the idea that more is better because of the probability of a miscarriage.
The idea here is that if two or three embryos are implanted inside the woman there is the increased odds that at least one of the embryos will take hold and grow to a full term baby.
But what happens if all three embryos develop into full term babies?
Some women might be happy to have twins or triplets and see this as a blessing while others might only want one or two at most.
unfortunately we live in a godless nation where a woman can decide to have one of these little babies killed and that is what selective reduction is all about.
It is a procedure often done out of convenience because of finances (it would be too expensive having more than one child) or lifestyle choices.
Like abortion selective reduction would appear to be for selfish reasons.
As a result of IVF treatment multi-fetal pregnancies have and do take place today. This is a common but ostensibly "unintended consequence" of IVF treatment.
It is this treatment of invitro-fertilization that has opened the door for selective reduction.
Selective reduction is done when the doctor takes a needle filled with potassium chloride and injects it into the mother's womb piercing the embyo's heart until the heart stops. The needle is left inside the heart until the little baby is totally dead.
The less desirable embryo is selected for termination by the doctor.
Dr. Mark Evans is the father of selective reduction because back in the 1980's he first introduced the idea and how did he come up with this idea?
In an interview he said: "Very often we would see couples who were on their second marriage. He had two or three from his first marriage. She had two or three from her first marriage. They only wanted to have one more. We also see couples for whom finances is a big issue."
The following are my comments I posted ono a YouTube video alluding to a woman named Shelby who chose to have two of her babies murdered by her doctor.
You should watch this video. It might raise your blood pressure if you a a normal red-blooded Christian woman or man who loves children and the gift of life as given by our Creator.
Shelby terminated two of her three fetuses" Why? Because she didn't believe the fetuses were human life and didn't want the risk. At 11:27 Shelby asks: "What's life?" In her spiritual blindness she didn't see those two fetuses as human life within her. What shame! What ignorance! Planned Parenthood probably did a good job of lying to her by telling her a human fetus is not really a human but just tissue with potential for becoming a human. All pregnancies carry a certain degree of risk. If you don't want that risk then don't have sex. Don't practice IVF. The doctor aided her in her murder by playing God and leaving what he thought was the "healthiest". God gives life therefore only God has the right to take life. Such ignorance by Shelby and this doctor results from the false teachings of evolution in our public/government schools and colleges. She said they had the "potential" to become human. No, they were human from the moment of conception. The human DNA was there from the beginning. Scientific fact."
One person responded to my comment by saying this woman was an idiot because she knew going into the IVF there was the possibility of having multiple births.
Of course she did.

Another person said: "I'll be doing my embryo transfer in a few months. I'm glad selective reduction is an option for women. I'm lucky to live in a country that allows me to be in control of my own body. I wouldn't be happy about having to destroy a fetus, but in the end it is my decision."
