Now to the sweet by and by

From earth up to heaven’s sky

I will worship Your goodness, Lord
As I lay me down to sleep
I will worship your goodness, Lord
When I pray my soul to keep

I will worship Your goodness, Lord
When I wake to the morning sun
I will worship Your goodness, Lord
When my day is almost done

I will worship Your goodness, Lord
When I am wrapped up inside
I will worship Your goodness, Lord
Wrapped up in evil’s foolish pride

I will worship Your goodness, Lord
When I look and see the cross
I will worship Your goodness, Lord
When I see in my sins I’m lost

True praise and worship is greater than mere emotion. It is challenging to our very inward self. It teaches us to always be joyful and never stop praying. (1 Thess. 5:16-18) It teaches us always to take delight in Him. (Psalm 37:4). It calls us to a higher way of thinking. The more we take the risk of losing ourselves in Him, the more we will discover what we've inwardly longed for most of all. Please read Psalm 19:1-14.

Praise is the language of heaven. Someday we'll speak it, but until then we have to practice. You see, God never leaves us where we are. (James 4:8) Are you worshiping the Lord? If not, why not?

So, raise your holy hands in praise. Bend a knee to him in prayer. Study His word in growth. Tell others about Him in kindness. Amen!
