O' Lord preserve me with thy loving kindness
and let your mercy, substain me
Order my steps in the right directions
let peace keep flowing from thee

Please extend your grace while in this race
so to sufficient me in every way
For when I am tired, I truly will need it
so to bear each and every day

Help my thoughts be pure as the morning dew
and your joy be a delight unto me
Let my lips give praise in whatever you do
when I fail to understand and see

Let your righteousness shine like the rising sun
and let it set in my heart with a glow
Secure your truths with your binding love
so that my soul will over-flow

For your word keeps ringing in my soul
it's to guide me through each day
And when troubles rise, it springs up inside
to help me along the way

Lord attend to my soul and keep it safe
for the wars from within and out
Please heed to my cry dear Lord I pray
for you are the only way out

Season my tongue like honey and spice
let my ears be willing to hear
And be reminded that I am only a child
trusting you to make the way clear
