Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her. Having a relationship with Jesus Christ is like finding a hidden treasure. But, this treasure is not of earthly items. It is a “treasure” of the soul, mind, and heart. It is an eternal “treasure”. It is offered to us freely by our Lord. So, since it is offered to us, we as such did not find it, but chose to accept that which was offered.

A treasure is something we are tempted to hide, to keep to ourselves. Why? Does it need to be hidden because we are afraid if we don’t hide it, we will lose it? Are we greedy and don’t want to share?

Jesus is not to be hidden. Jesus is to be glorified! The Good News of our Lord and Savior is to be shared with all. The Father and the Son wish that all would be saved through believing in the Father and the Son. We, the workers of the harvest have the privilege of sharing Christ with those we encounter.

So we are not to hold on to Christ, as if to keep to ourselves. The greatest gift offered to mankind is meant to be shared with all. Not all will accept the gift offered, but we are empowered and commanded to share Christ with others.

Jesus sent Mary to the disciples with a message for them. He empowered and commissioned her to share the Good News of His resurrection with the disciples. And Mary told the disciples that she saw the Lord.

Have you seen the Lord? One can see the Lord in different ways. I had an experience earlier in life where I saw the Lord. That will be a share for another day. Just let it be known that we can see the Lord. Be open minded to that idea always!

Let us do as Mary was told and share the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
