ON CALVARY

Once I suffered in my foolish pride
Nothing of my life could satisfy
Caring not it was for me He died
On Calvary, yes Calvary.
Then I found in Him God's loving plan
The plan, He brought it down to man
The plan from sin He did expand
On Calvary, yes Calvary.
On the cross His blood covered it all
On the cross it was given for all
To all man He has given the call
On Calvary, on Calvary.

I came to Him on bended knee
Just to make my humble plea
In His loving arms He set me free
On Calvary, yes on Calvary.

Now I take Him as my new found King
His love for me I will forever sing
His peace to me He did freely bring
On Calvary, yes Calvary.
For I found in Him a loving friend
From the cross His love He did extend
My sinful life His grace did end
On Calvary, yes Calvary.
On the cross His blood covered it all
On the cross it was given for all
To all men He has given the call
On Calvary, on Calvary.

We don't hear much of the "Message of the Cross" in today's high society. However, the cross is, and has always been, the center of the full gospel. (1 Cor 15:1-4) From the very beginnning of mankind’s sin, (Genesis 3:1-7), and throughout the  history of time, mankind has always followed a path of sin.(Romans 3:23)

You see, mankind has always preferred disobeying the revealed word of God, by believing the lie of Satan, (Ephesians 6:11-12) and by placing their own wills above God's.

Sin, with all its dreadful consequences has now overtaking the human race. And the only cure for this sin is the finished work of Cavalry's cross. It was on this cruel cross that Christ died in the place of sinners. (Matthew 20:28) It was the cross where sin was paid for and the sinner was released from the consequences of sin. (2 Cor 5:19)

It was the death of Christ on this cross that manifested the love of God (Romans 5:8), and this should be enough to influence mankind to do good. Why the cross? It took the cross to show God's displeasure over sin. It took the cross to save mankind from this dreadful hereditary sinful nature. (Psalm 51:5)  You see, sin can be labeled as anything contrary to the character of God. And Christ died in the place of sinners, by way of Calvary. (2 Cor 5:18-19)

And now God is satisfied with that which the cross accomplished. (1 John 2:2) Will you not be satisfied as well?
