My sins were nailed to the cross, 
I am redeemed, I am redeemed!
My sins were nailed to the cross,

His suffering and pain not in vain, 
His anguish and hurt was my gain. 
My sins were nailed to the cross,
I am redeemed, I am redeemed!

My sins were nailed to the cross,

My sins were nailed to the cross,

It was His love beyond degree, 
He suffered on that cruel tree. 
My sins are nailed to the cross,

My sins were nailed to the cross,

May the scars forever be there,
Now His love for me I do share.

Have you ever known someone who once was on fire for the gospel, who suddenly fell into the clutches of sin?   What were your feelings? How did you react? What did you do about it? (Romans13:9-10) Let me just ask this question, if I may. If our loving heavenly Father, in His infinite mercy and love were to forgive (Jeremiah 31:34),  how can we not? (Luke 17:3-4)

As a true believer in Jesus Christ, being faced with this state of affairs, forgiveness oftentimes becomes a very difficult task, especially, among Christian friends. I trust that you granted that desperately-needed forgiveness. (Psalm 31:1-2)

In reality sin may be forgiven (1 John 1:9), but the scars may serve as a reminder of those sins. When this happens, it is virtually mandatory that you stay in close contact with that friend whom you have forgiven.

You see, oftentimes it's much easier to forgive, than forget. The results of our sins will linger on. (Psalm 40:12) Just don't let memories and grudges linger within your mind.

Remembering how much your sins cost Jesus will help you to be a better friend to those who have wronged you. (Psalm 31:10)  

As this poem portrays, we are a redeemed people, redeemed by Calvary's cross, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. Yes, our sins were nailed to the cross. All sins were nailed to the cross. So forgive we may, forgive we must.

Author's Postscript:

The following scripture is a very good example of forgiveness. Here is described the blessing of forgiveness given to King David. Let us all follow suit. Amen. 

     When I kept silent,
     my bones wasted away
     through my groaning all day long.
     For day and night
     your hand was heavy on me;
     my strength was sapped
     as in the heat of summer.

     Then I acknowledged my sin to you
     and did not cover up my iniquity.
     I said, “I will confess
     my transgressions to the Lord.”
     And you forgave
     the guilt of my sin. (Psalm 32:3-5)
